For the first time in our 20-year history, Austin Rare Coins will now release the rare, British Half Sovereign Kings to the American public. In an historic find, the Austin Buying Trust just located a small hoard of 400 British Half Sovereigns which will be offered on a limited basis, first come, first served until we are sold out.

Sovereigns have the distinction of being the most recognized and respected medium of exchange worldwide since they were first minted in 1489. The Half Sovereigns in this release were minted during the reign of the two historic Kings of England.

King Edward VII - Ruled the British Empire from 1902 to 1910. The coin at the lower right bears his likeness.

King George V - Followed in succession ruling from 1911 to 1926 and the coin in the upper left features his historic profile. See link below to larger images and reverse photo.

Each Half Sovereign contains 22 carat fine gold with a total weight of precisely .1177 troy ounces. Today, they trade at a small premium over their gold content as a reflection of the value placed on them by coin collectors worldwide.
