Austrian Philharmonic Silver Coins The brand new, Austrian Philharmonic Silver coins have just been minted and released for the first time ever! The Austrian Mint in Vienna has had an incredible influence over the economy, the culture, and everyday life in Austria and Europe for over eight centuries. Now, the Austrian Mint has listened to its market’s demands and started a new tradition by producing the First-Year-of-Issue Silver Philharmonic Coins. Massive Demand for Silver - Over the years, Silver investors around the world have been active in the market, creating massive demand for Silver coins and bullion. Recent shortages of the above ground supply of Silver have created extreme difficulty for even the Royal Canadian Mint and the U.S. Mint to keep Silver Dollars in stock. The Austrian Mint reports that demand has been massive for the new Silver Philharmonic coins– and they’ve just been released! Minted in Solid Silver - Each Austrian Philharmonic Silver coin is struck in one troy ounce of .999 pure Silver. These beautiful coins were created with painstaking attention to detail and are quite similar to the Austrian Philharmonic Gold coins, with a few additions. Beautiful Unique Design - On the obverse is the inscription “1 Unze Feinsilber,” or “1 ounce pure silver,” located below the “Great Pipe Organ” of Vienna’s Golden Concert Hall, home of the Philharmonic. The obverse also bears the country of issue– Republic of Austria, “Republik Oesterreich,” the year of issue 2008, and the face value of €1.5 Euros. The reverse of the coin displays the incredibly popular design of the Philharmonic bouquet of instruments with the word “Silber” directly above. This gorgeous new silver coin also has a smooth edge, whereas the Gold Philharmonic has a rilled edge. |
