The Half Eagle was the first gold coin actually struck for the United States. The $5 piece was authorized to be coined by the Act of April 2, 1792 and the design was created by Christian Gobrecht. It features a portrait of Lady Liberty encircled by 13 stars representing the first 13 colonies while the reverse depicts the famed Heraldic Eagle.

The $5 gold piece is the only coin series in our nation's history to have been minted at all eight of the U.S. Mint branches -  Philadelphia, San Francisco, Charlotte, Dahlonega, New Orleans, Carson City, Denver, and West Point.

Each coin contains .24187 ounces of pure gold, they will have a range of dates. There are a total of 213 coins in the program with a combined mintage of 60,726,390. These coins will have a range of dates and each one has been slabbed and certified by PCGS/NGC in MS-64 condition and come to us packaged in NGC/PCGS certified boxes of 20.
