1852 Charlotte $5 Liberty NGC MS 64
Are you looking for an eye-catching coin that is sure to be the highlight of your collection? This is the one for you! With a beautiful luster on both sides, it’s an incredibly visually appealing rare gold coin from the long-closed mint in Charlotte, North Carolina.
It’s graded at MS-64 and it’s been beautifully preserved. In fact, this particular coin is known to be one of just 12 in this grade with only one that’s known to be finer. What’s even wilder about this coin is that it’s the only MS-54 Charlotte $5 we’ve had in the last five years and it would be a great addition to any collection of rare coins.
1861 $20 Liberty Gold Coin NGC About Uncirculated 50
On January 3, 1861, Delaware voted not to secede from the Union. Six days later on January 9, Mississippi decides they will secede from the Union. The next couple of month sees a number of other states making their decisions on whether or not they’ll secede until April 12, 1861 when the Civil War begins with a battle at Fort Sumter in South Carolina.
One thing is for sure. 1861 was an intense year for America which is part of what makes this Double Eagle gold coin so sought after. Nearly 3 million coins were issued in 1861, but unfortunately, a number of those coins have been lost or destroyed since then.
This coin, however, is in great shape. It’s a piece of history that would make a great addition to your collection of rare coins.
