This Roman Empire Constans Bi-Centenionalis, certified in Extremely Fine (XF) condition, offers a glimpse into the later years of the Roman Empire under the rule of Constans, who reigned from AD 337 to 350. Constans was the youngest son of Constantine the Great and played a significant role in defending the empire from external threats and internal turmoil

Accent your collection with a scarce bronze coin struck under Constans, the youngest son of the renowned emperor Constantine the Great. This Centenionalis features a portrait of the young leader on the obverse, while the reverse shows him standing on a galley, symbolizing his authority.

Upon his father’s death in A.D. 337, Constans became emperor alongside his two brothers, controlling Italy, Ilyria, and Africa. However, his arrogant treatment of the soldiers made him deeply unpopular, ultimately leading to Magnentius’ successful revolt in A.D. 350.
