SS Republic Half Dollar 1861 Confederate States Issue
This 1861-O Confederate-Issue Half Dollar is a rare find indeed and we only have a few. Not only was the coin recovered from the SS Republic Shipwreck of 1865, but it has been verified as one of the few coins struck while the US Mint at New Orleans was under the control of the Confederacy!
Highly desirable to many types of collectors, this coin has also been preserved in a mint condition, even though it laid at the bottom of the ocean for nearly 150 years.
