Various Date Walking Liberty Half Dollar | PCGS or NGC | MS-65
Gem quality Walking Liberty Half Dollars from the World War II era are absolutely beautiful US silver coins. Certified by wither NGC or PCGS in Mint State 65 condition, they display exceptional quality with brilliant luster, sharp details, and outstanding eye appeal.
There are several other dates and mintmarks in the series available for the same price, particularly from 1940 through 1947. Just call us for more details and other dates we have available. We think this series has overlooked value at current price levels, particulary in this quality.
The obverse of the coin features Adolph A. Weinman's timeless design of Lady Liberty striding confidently toward the dawn of a new day. Draped in the American flag and carrying branches of laurel and oak, she symbolizes strength, freedom, and hope. The inscriptions "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year "1943" surround the elegant image. As you may have realized, this is the same design used for the Silver American Eagle series beginning in 1986.
The reverse showcases a majestic American bald eagle perched on a rocky crag, wings partially spread, with a mountain pine growing from the rock—a representation of resilience and independence. The detailed craftsmanship of this design, along with the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "HALF DOLLAR," highlight the artistic brilliance of Weinman’s work.
Struck in 90% silver, "Walkers" hold both intrinsic and historical value. They represent an era of American resilience during one of the most pivotal periods in world history. The Mint State 65 grade underscores the coin’s superior preservation and high level of detail.
